Reconsideration of Refusals - Immigration Consultation
Description
If your immigration application to Canada has been refused by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), you may have the option to request a reconsideration of your application. A reconsideration request is a formal request to have the decision reviewed by a different officer. To request a reconsideration, you must submit a written request to the IRCC after receiving a refusal notification. The request must explain why you believe the decision was incorrect and provide any additional information or documentation that supports your case. It's important to note that not all types of applications can be reconsidered. If your reconsideration request is approved, your application may be reviewed by a different IRCC officer. If your request is denied, you may have other options available to you, such as appealing the decision to the Immigration Appeal Division (IAD) or filing a judicial review application in Federal Court. It's important to carefully review the eligibility criteria and seek legal advice if needed before submitting a reconsideration request or appealing a decision to the IAD or Federal Court.
